# Air Fronts (Graveyard, Air Evacuation, The Mustang's Kick, This Marauder Got Home)

Photo-sheet headed AIR FRONTS: German newsreel stills of wrecked American planes, wounded men loaded onto a C-47, a P-51 with drop tanks, a carrier deck of P-40s and a damaged B-26. The captions end on replacement ('must be replaced without delay'), pairing losses with successes to urge continued production (card-stacking, fear-appeal).

AIR FRONTS
GRAVEYARD. These shots from a captured German news-reel show workmen salvaging rubber and metal parts from wrecked American planes. They were shot down over Germany and are now piled high in an airplane graveyard near Berlin. These planes must be replaced without delay to keep up the attack.
AIR EVACUATION of the wounded in New Guinea. Litter cases are placed aboard this giant C-47 for swift transport from the battle area to hospitals in the rear.
THE MUSTANG'S KICK is even harder to evade when these auxiliary tanks, filled with high octane gasoline, are attached to the wings. This P-51 is one of the new long-range fighter planes now in action out of England against the Luftwaffe.
LAND BIRDS AT SEA. A Navy aircraft carrier, serving here as a transport for Army fighter planes, nears its overseas destination with a flock of P-40 Warhawks on its flight deck readied to streak into instant action.
THIS MARAUDER GOT HOME. Its left engine shot out by German flak in an attack on Roccasecca Bridge, Italy, the pilot of this B-26 ordered everything removable thrown out to lighten the load. Ammunition belts were being hurled overboard when this picture was snapped from another plane.
