```
BOMBERS' GUARDIANS. Escorts of Thunderbolt fighters are an effective answer to Nazi "rocket gun" planes which attack our bombers. Fast, powerful and rangey, the Thunderbolt provides protection far into enemy territory.
AIR FRONTS
U. S. ARMY OFFICIAL POSTER
THE OLD AND NEW. An American C-53 transport plane flies over the pyramids of Egypt. Air transport is a vital means of getting men and supplies to critical points for the attack on Axis-held Europe.
"PISTOL PACKIN'." (Right) Nose of a Mitchell armed with a 75 mm. cannon. For results of this new development see below.
PASTING RABAUL. U.S. planes raid Jap advanced base, sinking 15 Nip vessels, damaging 11, blasting and burning shore installations. With increasing air strength hammering the Japs, Uncle Sam is going places in the Pacific.
AXIS FIGHTER'S END. A German pursuit ship has been caught over Italy, downed in flames on the beach. With growing air superiority our forces are threatening the enemy on every front.
PISTOL PACKER PLUGS NIP. Striking proof of the power of the new cannon armament. A Jap destroyer is mauled by a Mitchell's 75 mm. gun. Arrow points to damage done by one shell.
