# Always advance with the U.S. Marines: 167th anniversary

Marine Corps anniversary and recruiting poster: a helmeted Marine crouches with a bayonet-fixed rifle in front of faint red drawings of earlier battles and the Marine emblem, with a ring of battle names from Bon Homme Richard to the Solomon Islands. The battle honours lend past prestige to the present Marine (transfer), and 'Always advance' is a slogan-level glittering generality.
