# Anba' Moussawarah (Pictorial News) No. 35/54: News in Pictures (illustrated news sheet distributed in Beirut)

A photo page headed 'News in Pictures' and dated September 9, 1954 in its footer: an Iraqi doctor studying at Harvard, a highway cloverleaf, a mass paratroop jump, President Eisenhower decorating a French nurse from Dien Bien Phu, quintuplets in Argentina, and rams flown to Cairo under the 'Point 4' programme. The tell is card-stacking, with a testimonial in the President's quoted praise: U.S. training, technology, aid and military strength are the selected subjects.

STUDYING AT HARVARD School of Public Health, Dr. Sami El-Sheikh Kassim of the Iraq Railway State Hospital observes the daily activity of children at a Boston nursery school. Personal cleanliness--practiced by these children who wash their hands before eating--is taught at an early age.

NEW "CLOVERLEAF" construction, part of a New York State highway, enables motor vehicles to cross over, enter, or leave the highway without halting other vehicles or risking collision.

PARATROOPS JUMP during U.S. Army maneuvers at Fort Meade, Maryland. The mass jump was made by 450 airborne infantrymen from 15 Army transport planes.

ANGEL OF DIENBIENPHU, Mlle. Genevieve de Galard-Terraube, is awarded the U.S. Medal of Freedom with Bronze Palm by President Eisenhower in Washington. The French airborne nurse who stayed at her post tending the wounded while under fire from Vietminh communists, is credited by the U.S. President with "inspiring and heartening the entire free world."

QUINTS' BIRTHDAY, their 11th, is celebrated in Argentina by the Diligenti brothers and sisters. The children are seldom seen together because they attend different schools.

AMERICAN RAMS arrive in Cairo by air. The 28 pedigreed rams will be used by the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture to improve sheep breeds as a part of the co-operative Point 4 program.
