# The Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces, Volume 5 (August 1963), page 7: photographs of Chou En-lai with Ho Chi Minh and of Yeh Chien-ying with Vo Nguyen Giap

Two press photographs show smiling embraces, captioned as Chou En-lai ('Red China') with Ho Chi Minh and Yeh Chien-ying ('Red China') with Vo Nguyen Giap ('Red North Vietnam'), above a sentence about a 'South Vietnam Revolutionary Policy' of the Labor Party's 14th Convention. The tell: the colour label 'Red' and the paired embraces present Chinese and North Vietnamese leaders as one bloc, so the association stands in for an argument about outside direction of the insurgency.
