# Aufruf! / Poziv! Männer der Jahrgänge 1914-1926 (call-up in the Adriatic Littoral)

A two-column text poster, German on the left and Slovene on the right, in which the Supreme Commissioner of the Adriatic Littoral calls up men born 1914-1926 to war service from 20 August 1944. The tell: 'the struggle for the new Europe' is the stated reason, and the closing paragraph says that whoever does not go with 'us' will be treated as an enemy of the country along with those who support him.

AUFRUF!

Artikel 3.
Diese Anordnung tritt am 20. August 1944 in Kraft.

Rainer

CALL!

Men of the year-groups 1914-1926!

The struggle for the new Europe has entered its decisive stage. No one may any longer stand aside. I have therefore today made the following order:

ORDER:
On the basis of the law on civil mobilisation of 31 October 1942 and my ordinance on war-service obligation in the Operational Zone 'Adriatic Littoral' no. 3 of 29 November 1943 I issue the following

CALL-UP:
Article 1.
The male members of the birth-years 1914-1919, and those members of the birth-years 1920-1926 not registered at the muster, who live in the Operational Zone 'Adriatic Littoral' and are not foreigners, are hereby called up to perform war service.
Stateless males of these years who permanently reside in the Operational Zone are also liable to war service.
The call-up also applies to male members of the birth-years 1914 to 1926 who come from the other Italian provinces and are at present in the Operational Zone.
Article 2.
Muster dates and muster districts will be fixed by the provincial muster offices.
Article 3.
This order takes effect on 20 August 1944.
I expect that you will follow my call and fulfil your war-service obligation where I deploy you.
Your pay and rations and the provision for your family members follow the recognised just principles that apply to the German Wehrmacht and the corresponding German formations.
Men of the Operational Zone 'Adriatic Littoral'! You too must make your contribution to the new Europe. Whoever does not go with us will be regarded as an enemy of the country and must expect that he and all others who support him will be met by the heavy penalties with which the ordinance on war-service obligation threatens those who wish to evade their duty to people and fatherland.

The Supreme Commissioner
in the Operational Zone 'Adriatic Littoral'
Rainer
