# Jogging his memory

Harry S. Truman, at a desk with a nameplate 'H.S.T.' and a sheet headed 'My Memoirs', is struck on the head by a giant mallet swung by a leaping figure labelled 'Byrnes' on his coat. The picture shows the former secretary of state's challenge to the memoir as a blow; the technique is a weak-fit name-calling through caricature, since no epithet is printed.
