# Uneasy lies the head...?

A crowned lion standing on a map of Britain looks back in alarm at its own tail, labelled 'Colonial Interests', which is knotted at three points marked 'Hong Kong', 'Suez' and 'Cyprus'. The cartoon argues that these holdings are a source of trouble for Britain; fear-appeal is a weak fit, as the harm is implied through the knots rather than a prescribed remedy.
