# Bình-Thuận (Binh Thuan)

A two-column Vietnamese-language sheet sets 'The Republic of Vietnam builds' (a hospital, a school, a graded road) against 'The Viet Cong destroy' (a burnt house, a rubble mound across a road, a collapsed bridge). The right-hand text says the Viet Cong's 'Liberation Revolution' brings cold, sickness and painful death. The sheet pairs Government construction photographs with Viet Cong damage photographs, and each side is shown by one type of image only.

BINH-THUAN

THE REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM BUILDS:
The Government's Revolution of Building a New Society: new construction and repair of roads, schools, hospitals, markets.
With the aim of:
Bringing the people a life of enough to eat and warmth, hope and progress.

Phan Thiet hospital, built by the local authorities, is ready to receive sick compatriots.

Schools are being built

Roads are being repaired

THE VIET CONG DESTROY:
The Viet Cong's Liberation Revolution brings the people hunger and cold, sickness, and painful death.

Homes broken, doors smashed

The Viet Cong pile up mounds [across roads]

Destroying bridges obstructs the people's movement.

SP-1269
```
Translation is FRAME's own literal rendering. 'Cọng-Hòa' is printed so (for 'Cộng-Hòa'). 'Nhà tan cửa nát' is an idiom for utter ruin of a household; rendered literally with the idiom's sense. 'Đắp mô' is rendered 'pile up mounds'; the bracketed 'across roads' is FRAME's gloss from the photograph.
