# Oklic / Kundmachung (Proclamation): Colonel-General Boroević's 60th birthday, Postojna (Adelsberg)

A two-column notice, in Slovene on the left and German on the right, in which the district captain relays the thanks of Colonel-General Svetozar Boroević von Bojna for birthday greetings and calls on the population to place unshakable trust in the 'iron will to victory' of the 'hero of the Isonzo front'. The tells are the general's prestige lent to a request for confidence and the abstract victory-will wording, with no result or figure offered.

Oklic.

V Postojni, dne 7. decembra 1916.

Dr. Pilshofer,
c. kr. okrajni glavar.

Kundmachung.

Am 2. Dezember l.

Dezember 1916.

Dr. Pilshofer,
k. k. Bezirkshauptmann.

```
[German column] On 2 December of this year His Excellency the glory-covered leader of the Isonzo Army, Imperial and Royal Colonel-General Svetozar Boroević von Bojna, celebrated his sixtieth birthday. In the awareness of agreement with all inhabitants of the district, I have on this occasion brought to His Excellency, whose outstanding generalship achieved that the treacherous enemy, after so many months, despite enormous superiority and despite hecatombs of sacrifice, is with a very slight difference still where he stood at the beginning of the war he recklessly kindled, the most devoted and respectful good wishes and blessings of all authorities and offices, all institutions and of the whole population of the district, together with heartfelt thanks. His Excellency, visibly pleased, thanked us for this attention and charged me to convey his warm thanks to the relevant parties and to the whole population. I gladly perform this pleasant duty and use the occasion to call once more for unwavering, courageous trust in the unshakable strength and the iron will to victory of the hero of the Isonzo front. Adelsberg, 7 December 1916. Dr. Pilshofer, k. k. district captain. [The Slovene column carries the same text.]
