# Buy Bonds - the G.I. way

Comic-strip poster by Al Capp: a kneeling soldier proposes to a barefoot woman in a torn dress, boasting he buys a G.I. bond every month and is no 'crap-shootin', no-bond buyin'' soldier. Familiar comic characters and soldier slang (plain-folks, transfer) carry the ask, with a joke that contrasts bond buyers with soldiers who do not buy.
