# Grand, National, Democratic Banner: Press Onward (Currier, Cass and Butler), 1848

Draped-cloth campaign banner: oval portraits of Cass and Butler beneath an eagle on a globe marked 'America' and 'France', with scrolls reading 'The Democrats' Choice for President & Vice President from 1849 to 1853' and 'Press Onward'. Tells: the scroll 'The Democrats' Choice for President & Vice President from 1849 to 1853' presents the ticket as the party's settled choice (bandwagon; 'Press Onward' alone would be a thin tell), and the eagle and flags lend national symbols to the candidates (transfer).
