# Charter of the United Nations, first side (1945)

Large sheet headed 'Charter of the United Nations' in red script and black capitals, with the Charter's Preamble and Chapter I in columns, a central column of signatories by country with facsimile signatures, and grey panels reproducing the opening in Russian, Chinese, French and Spanish. The technique is faint: the facsimile signatures and the full founding text lend the authority of the signed document to the organisation, a transfer; the sheet presents it as a reproduction.
