# Credo, Peace, Progress and Freedom poster (English poster distributed in Manila)

A blue sheet promoting the United Nations: the UN emblem, a Security Council chamber, and photographs of singing children, a forestry and a disease-control project in the Philippines, and peacekeepers. A quotation from Secretary General U Thant says the UN rests on public allegiance rather than military force. The tell is testimonial (the Secretary General's quoted words) plus glittering generalities ('peace, progress and freedom for all men').

```
Credo:
PEACE,
PROGRESS
AND FREEDOM
FOR ALL MEN
"The United Nations does not depend for its strength upon military resources but upon the allegiance of millions of men and women who support the Organization--not in the forlorn belief that it is man's last hope for survival but in the creative conviction that it is our best hope for peace and progress."
--Secretary General U THANT
The United Nations unselfishly works to free the world's children from disease, ignorance and hunger.
U.N. technical assistance to the Philippines includes forestry research and disease control.
The peace-keeping machinery of the U.N. helps to develop friendly relations among nations.
