# The Daily Telegraph (Sydney), page 12, referendum day, 28 October 1916: 'He's sticking to you to-day, will you stick to him?'

A Sydney daily's page on the day of the first conscription referendum, dominated by a cartoon of a soldier at a trench parapet captioned 'He's sticking to you to-day, will you stick to him?'. Tells: the serving soldier's standing is attached to a Yes vote, and 'The Yes-No March' and 'Call to Arms' columns report crowds, cheers and 'a mighty Yes'.
