# Campaign envelope: Stephen A. Douglas and H. V. Johnson, with "I stand for the rights of the whole people" (S. Raynor, 1860)

Printed envelope front with a woodcut-style portrait of Douglas in a laurel oval under an eagle, crossed flags and a shield naming the ticket, plus a quoted Douglas slogan at upper right. Tells: the quoted line ("the rights of the whole people") is a virtue phrase standing for a policy, and the eagle and flags lend national symbols to the ticket.
