# Việt-Xô-Trung đoàn kết (Democratic Republic of Vietnam 100-dong stamp, 1954)

100-dong stamp inscribed 'Bưu điện Việt-Nam' showing three portraits (Malenkov, Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong, left to right) before the Soviet, Vietnamese and Chinese flags, with the slogan 'Việt-Xô-Trung đoàn kết' and the dates '1950 18-1 1954'. Placing the Vietnamese leader between two allied leaders and flags lends him their standing (transfer); the slogan names unity without saying what it requires (glittering generality).
