# "For God's sake send planes!" Planes mean guns, our guns

Industry poster: a wide-eyed soldier in a helmet crouches among leaves, shouting into a field telephone, under the quoted plea 'For God's sake send planes!' attributed to an 'actual message from the Far East'. Two U.S. fighters fly along the foot beside 'Planes mean guns - our guns'. The tell is a quoted plea from the front combined with an urgent image, a testimonial and fear-appeal aimed at war workers.
