"Following the Elm Canal on strafing mission, the P-51 streaked low over Holland, Germany, France, and back to England. Speed took it past flak batteries before they could go into action...evaded enemy pursuits...the Mustang's heavy firepower blasted 3 sea-planes, 4 barges, 2 trains. The only thing that hit it was a Channel seagull, into which it ran!"
