# Grand National Republican banner

Lithograph campaign banner for the Republican ticket, published by Currier & Ives (copyright 1876). Bust portraits of Rutherford B. Hayes (president) and William A. Wheeler (vice president) in laurel ovals under an eagle and four flags, with the motto 'Liberty and Union', a cornucopia and fasces. A near-identical Democratic banner was issued by the same firm (grand-national-democratic-banner-1876).
