# Help equip G. I. Joe with your war savings

A school stamp-sale poster with a running soldier, a beach landing in the background, a goal thermometer and a panel of cut-out gear with prices. Pupils paste each item on a smaller soldier as stamp sales reach its price. The fundraising goal is tied to named equipment and to 'G. I. Joe', an everyman soldier.

OUR GOAL
$
HELP EQUIP G. I. JOE
To put your school's name in a jeep like the one in the picture, first complete a campaign to buy enough stamps and bonds to pay for the jeep ($1165), then notify your State War Finance Office of the successful completion of your campaign. You will receive a duplicate of the sponsorship panel, actually placed inside your jeep. Field ambulances at $1950 may be sponsored in the same way.
WITH YOUR WAR SAVINGS
HOW TO USE THIS POSTER
First paste this panel on cardboard. When stamp sales equal the purchase price of one item of clothing or equipment, cut out that item and thumbtack it in proper position on the soldier, using the fully-equipped smaller figure in the upper left as a guide. Continue until all the items are "paid for" and the soldier is fully equipped. The same poster and cut-outs may be used again and again.
USE THE THERMOMETER
to record progress toward any selected goal. To use it more than once strengthen it by pasting cardboard on the back, then make a small hole or slit at top and bottom. Take a piece of ribbon or string, half red and half white, put the white end through the top hole, the red end through the bottom hole. Tie ends together in back.
