# Here's how you can stop food waste

Sponsor sheet: a mock 'Wanted! For Sabotage' notice names 'Food Waste' as a saboteur, above three panels (peas on a plate, fat poured from a pan, bitten bread) with waste percentages. A DuPont Cellophane line at the foot links the product to preventing waste. Waste is labelled with a criminal's name, and selected statistics are cited.

WANTED! FOR SABOTAGE
NAME - FOOD WASTE
ALIASES - Spoilage, carelessness, inadequate use.
BIRTHPLACE - U.S.A. Born in days of peace and plenty. Became a national habit.
ACTIVITIES - Constant sabotage of American food supplies.
FAVORITE HAUNTS - Kitchens of average American homes.
This saboteur is extremely dangerous. May seriously impede winning of war. Must be stopped at all costs.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN STOP FOOD WASTE
DON'T THROW IT OUT!
U. S. GOVERNMENT STATISTICS SHOW 15% WASTE OF FOOD IN HOMES
The food wasted in our homes is almost as much as we are sending all our Allies! They need more. You can help by preventing waste in your home. Start today!
DON'T WASTE FAT!
25% OF FATS ARE WASTED IN THE AVERAGE HOME
(ACCORDING TO BEST GOVERNMENT ESTIMATES)
Tiny dabs of butter left on your family's plates (totaling as little as 1/2 ounce a week) would make enough to supply our Army for a year! Most fats are valuable foods. Inedible fats are priceless material for ammunition. Don't waste fat!
EAT IT UP!
15% OF FOOD IN AVERAGE AMERICAN HOME IS WASTED
(ACCORDING TO U. S. GOVERNMENT STATISTICS)
Two slices of bread wasted each week in each home is the equivalent of 2 million loaves! Actually, the food wasted in our homes would feed 5 million fighting men every day. Help prevent this waste by protecting and using every tiny bit of food in your home.

Fresh, tasty food is eaten up. Not wasted. But often food can lose its freshness before it reaches your table. That's why many food processors wrap their products in moisture-proof DuPont Cellophane to protect freshness and flavor. All the way to your home, and in your home.
Another safeguard which helps prevent waste is Cellophane's transparency. It lets you see just what you are buying. Cellophane protection is helping prevent waste of precious civilian food stocks as well as vital food supplies that go to our armed forces at battle-fronts around the world.
