# Illustrated Current News, No. 4814, article: Services for Saipan Dead (New Haven, Conn., 7 July 1944)

News-photo sheet: Marines in camouflage helmets stand and carry flag-draped biers on a troop transport while a Navy chaplain reads the burial service. The headline reads 'SERVICES FOR SAIPAN DEAD'. The technique is faint: the flags and solemn ritual carry the national symbol onto the dead, while the text gives a casualty comparison.
