# President Putin in the Immortal Regiment column, Red Square, 9 May 2016

President Putin, in a dark suit and tie, walks in the Moscow Immortal Regiment column carrying a framed portrait of a uniformed man, among marchers holding portraits of their own relatives and a banner reading 'Immortal Regiment, Moscow'. The tells are the head of state taking part in the march as a relative carrying a family portrait, and the pairing of private family memory with the national Victory Day commemoration.
