# Japanese semi-postal stamps overprinted "Singapore fell", 2 sen + 1 sen and 4 sen + 2 sen (February 1942)

Two Japanese postage stamps, one red and one green, each showing a bemedalled military portrait under the chrysanthemum crest, with a red overprint reading "Singapore fell" and a surcharge (+1, +2). The tell is the overprint: the 1942 victory is attached to existing portrait stamps of earlier military heroes.
