# Kokoda Front Line! (Cinesound Review title card, correspondent's credentials)

An intertitle from the Cinesound Review special 'Kokoda Front Line!' (1942). Before the cameraman Damien Parer appears on screen to speak to the audience, the card vouches for him: his earlier campaigns, 'classic newsreel coverages of the war', and that he is 'an experienced and reliable observer'. The film's own text sets up the eyewitness as a trusted voice before any footage is shown.

## Text on the object

Original (English) · read from the image, not independently checked

```
Parer was through the
campaigns in Libya, Greece and
Syria and has been responsible
for some of the classic newsreel
coverages of the war.
  He is, in addition, an exper-
ienced and reliable observer.
```

Intertitle card, read from the committed frame; line breaks and the hyphenation of 'exper-ienced' are as on the card.
