# LDPR rally at the Georgian embassy, Moscow: 'Saakashvili = Hitler', 13 August 2008

Party activists in LDPR caps hold two hand-lettered sheets in front of blue LDPR flags: 'Саакашвили =Гитлер' (Saakashvili = Hitler) and 'Миша! Не бряцай! Отвалятся..', each with a yellow tag 'За все ответите! ЖИРИНОВСКИЙ'. The tell is a loaded label, the Hitler equation, attached to a named leader in place of a stated charge.

## Text on the object

Original (Russian) · read from the image, not independently checked

```
Миша!
Не бряцай!
Отвалятся..
За все ответите!
ЖИРИНОВСКИЙ
Саакашвили
=Гитлер
За все ответите!
ЖИРИНОВСКИЙ
[illegible fragments of a third sheet at far left: ...АЗА! ...ОТНИК! ...АНА]
```

English translation (machine translation by Claude, not verified by a fluent reader)

```
Misha!
Don't rattle (your sabres)!
They will fall off..
You will answer for everything!
ZHIRINOVSKY
Saakashvili
= Hitler
You will answer for everything!
ZHIRINOVSKY
[illegible fragments of a third sheet at far left]
```

'Миша' is the diminutive of Mikheil/Mikhail. The sentence 'Отвалятся..' ends in two dots and its subject is not stated on the sheet; 'бряцай' is the verb used in the idiom for rattling sabres. Translation is literal.
