# Loco Foco Triumphal Honors (pro-Whig cartoon), 1844

Cartoon of Polk and Dallas carried on a pole by ragged men in stereotyped Irish and Black caricature, with two musicians at left and Tyler as a weathervane at right; a bearer holding up the vane pole speaks in stage-Irish dialect ('Be dad, I can't carry you if you turn with every flaw of wind'). Tell: the opposing party is labelled 'Loco Foco' and shown as a ragged mob of ethnic caricatures (name-calling).

It is true, friend Polk, that on this occasion we shall find no difficulty in bearing our blushing honors meekly.
