Hồi 1 giờ sáng ngày 20 tháng 8 năm 1965, chừng 1 Đại Đội Việt Cộng tấn công 3 ấp Tân Sinh Tam-Đa, Phước-Hiệp và Phước-Lai thuộc xã Long-Trường, Quận Thủ-Đức, Tỉnh Gia-Định, do Nghĩa Quân và Địa Phương Quân trú đóng.
Nhờ sự kiên tâm, anh dũng chiến đấu của toàn thể các chiến sĩ, ta đã đẩy lui được nhiều đợt tấn công khốc liệt của Việt Cộng.
Kết quả: 8 xác Việt Cộng phơi thây tại trận địa và chừng 40 tên vừa chết vừa bị thương được đồng bọn đem đi ( máu chảy đầy đồng ).
Tịch thu được 7 khẩu súng đủ loại và nhiều đạn dược, quân trang, quân dược, v.v....
Hay tin Việt Cộng tấn công, Trung Tá Trần-văn-Mành, Quận Trưởng Thủ-Đức điều động binh sĩ tăng viện và đại bác yểm trợ, nâng cao tinh thần chiến đấu cho toàn thể anh em binh sĩ.
Long-Trường trước đây thường bị Việt Cộng phá rối, nay là mồ chôn Việt Cộng. Đồng bào các giới đều hân hoan về chiến thắng này.

Trung Tá Trần-văn-Mành Quận Trưởng Thủ-Đức ngỏ lời khen ngợi các chiến sĩ hữu công.

At 1 a.m. on 20 August 1965, about one company of Viet Cong attacked the three hamlets of Tan Sinh Tam-Da, Phuoc-Hiep and Phuoc-Lai of Long Truong village, Thu Duc district, Gia Dinh province, garrisoned by the Popular Forces and Regional Forces.
