# Margie poster SP no. 2

Colour poster in the 'Margie' series of letters to soldiers: a woman in a red dress, finger to her chin, looks at an ornate lamp on a stand. A handwritten note signed 'Margie' urges the reader to save pay, with a printed checklist of soldiers' deposits, transfer accounts, allotments, War Bonds and insurance. The tell is the girl-at-home voice (plain-folks), with homecoming scenes attached to saving (transfer).

of course it's a honey of
a gift, and you were
sweet to send it, but
you know we gals
don't need presents to
remember you by. We'd
much rather you'd
save the money because
when you come home
there'll be so many
important things you'll
want it for.
Love,
Margie
