# Margie poster SP no. 4

Colour poster in the 'Margie' series of letters to soldiers: a woman in a striped dress hugs a man's tweed jacket to her cheek. A handwritten note signed 'Margie' urges the reader to save pay, with a printed checklist of soldiers' deposits, transfer accounts, allotments, War Bonds and insurance. The tell is the girl-at-home voice (plain-folks), with homecoming scenes attached to saving (transfer).

your comfortable old tweeds
are still hanging in the
closet. Of course you
always look wonderful
to me, but when you
come home fresh out of
G. I. khaki you'll
really want to cut a
figure. That will take
some shopping, and
shopping will take
some cash, so how
about starting now to
save for the big day?
Love,
Margie
