# Mr. Sang Doubles His Income

A horizontal photo-sheet (code SP-1434) headed 'Sang's Light Doubles Productivity' [as printed] tells of a young An Giang farmer who, on a plot lent by the Government, and with seed, fertiliser and insecticide supplied under the rural development programme, harvested 16,000 piastres of beans in three months, more than double the 1965 season. Photographs show Sang and his wife picking, a bean field and the Minister of Agriculture inspecting his beans. A named ordinary farmer is the single case offered for the programme.

SANG DOUBLES PRODUCTIVITY [lit. 'MR. SANG INCREASES PRODUCTIVITY TWOFOLD']

Mr. Truong Ngươn Sang, a young farmer of An Giang province, rented a plot of land from the Government. In three months he and his wife harvested 16 thousand piastres' worth of the two kinds of beans they had planted. This income has more than doubled compared with the 1965 season. Mr. Sang was able to produce more thanks to taking part in the Rural Development programme. He was helped with seed, fertiliser and insecticide. Thanks to that, in addition to new improved planting methods, many farmers have reaped good results. The rural development effort has brought the people a more prosperous life.

Mr. Sang and his wife harvesting. In the past how could they produce like this.

The bean plants, carefully fertilised and sprayed, promise a good harvest.
