# Here! (New Hampshire heard from) The true Military Ring

Cartoon by Thomas Nast on the last page of Harper's Weekly, 30 March 1872 (the page also carries advertisements). Grant, in uniform, reads a roll call; a soldier standing for New Hampshire answers 'Here!' LOC links it to the New Hampshire state election of March 1872. It predates the party conventions and is included as an item of the Republican side of the 1872 contest.
