# The New Life of the Quang-Ngai Rural Populace

Sheet SP-2028 carries the headline 'New Life of the Rural Compatriots of Quang-Ngai' and opens by contrasting the Viet Cong's 'destruction, terrorism and cold-blooded assassination' with the government's stated aim of raising spiritual and material life. Photographs show a dispensary and maternity station, a model well and filter tank, a reading room with a ribbon-cutting, a concrete bridge and a village power station, with project costs in piastres. The tell: a list of completed works, with figures, is framed against an accusation of terror against the other side.

NEW LIFE
Of the Rural Compatriots
QUANG-NGAI

In contrast to the Viet Cong's acts of destruction, terror and savage assassination, the Government of the Republic of Vietnam always stands for raising the spiritual and material life of the people.
This is the face of rural Quang-Ngai being renewed with the progressive amenities of a civilised society.

Dispensary and maternity station at Thanh-Liem hamlet, Tu-Binh village, Tu-Nghia district, just finished building.

A model well and filter tank at Phu-Vinh hamlet, Nghia-Chanh village, Nghia-Hanh district.

Within the framework of carrying out development plans in the new-life hamlets, the people of Nghia-An-Dong hamlet, Tu-Quang village, Tu-Nghia district, with the help of Quang-Ngai II Rural Construction team, have completed a reading room and 1 fish pond.
This reading room, built of brick with a tin roof, 8 metres long and 4 metres wide, cost 79,460 piastres paid by the provincial Rural Construction Council, not counting 90 bags of cement and 55 sheets of tin provided by the American economic aid agency. The reading room has been fully equipped by the Information Service with books, newspapers and pictures, and is open daily for the people to come and see.

Solid reinforced-concrete bridges have replaced fragile, weak bamboo bridges.

The power station at Phu-Nhon hamlet, Son-Long village, Son-Tinh district, has just been completed at a cost of 1,100,000 piastres paid by the Rural Construction fund. Soon this power station will supply full lighting to the people of the surrounding area.
