# News Review, 'News in Pictures' spread, July 29, 1954 (English-language page distributed in Beirut)

A two-page photo spread headed 'News in Pictures' from a news review. Photographs show veterans on the U.S. Capitol steps, the U.S. ambassador finishing a camel race in Ankara, an Iraqi general receiving the U.S. Legion of Merit, a tennis champion at Wimbledon and voters in the Gold Coast election. The tell is selection and association: items on U.S. relations with Near Eastern and other states are placed beside sport and election pictures.
