# House of Cuts: The House Republican Budget Stacks the Deck Against the Middle Class

A tall White House infographic headed 'House of Cuts' over a night view of the Capitol. Panels pair a down arrow ('cuts taxes for millionaires') with an up arrow ('raises taxes for middle-class families'), a state-by-state map of seniors who 'could' pay more for drugs, and a list of programme losses ('could lose') under a hypothetical 15 percent across-the-board cut. It closes 'If you agree this isn't fair, pass it on.' and is sourced to 'White House data'.

HOUSE of CUTS

THE HOUSE REPUBLICAN BUDGET:
STACKING THE DECK AGAINST THE MIDDLE CLASS, ONE CUT AT A TIME.

HIGHER TAXES... BUT NOT FOR MILLIONAIRES

CUTS TAXES for MILLIONAIRES by an average of $87,000 or more
AND
RAISES TAXES for MIDDLE-CLASS FAMILIES WITH KIDS by an average of at least $2,000

DRUG SAVINGS FOR SENIORS? NOT ANYMORE

More than 4.3 million seniors would have to pay more for their prescription drugs, because the House budget would re-open the Medicare “donut hole.”

See how many seniors could be affected in your state:

WORKERS, STUDENTS, AND FAMILIES? THEY'RE ON THEIR OWN

Compared to the President's budget, the House Republican budget cuts discretionary spending by 15 percent. That could slash funding for middle-class lifelines.

If funding for domestic discretionary priorities was cut across the board by 15 percent this year:

1,167,000 People could lose access to job training and employment services
616,000 Students could lose Pell Grants to help pay for college
345,000 Very low-income families could lose access to housing assistance
200,000 New mothers and children could be cut off from programs to help them get healthy food
170,000 Kids could lose access to critical early childhood education through Head Start programs
29,000 Teachers and aides could lose their jobs

And according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the House Budget could cut the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by $137 billion – 18 percent – over the next decade.

NEED AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE? TOO BAD

The House Republican budget repeals the Affordable Care Act, eliminating health insurance for:

MORE THAN 7 MILLION Americans who have signed up for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplaces
3.1 MILLION young adults who have stayed on their parents' health insurance plans
MILLIONS MORE Americans who have gained coverage through Medicaid

IF YOU AGREE THIS ISN'T FAIR, PASS IT ON.
