# Our Boys Need the Makins on Their Way "Over There": An Army Girl's Transport Tobacco Fund Does It

Three uniformed soldiers on a ship's rail, two waving and one lighting a cigarette, appear under the headline 'Our Boys Need the Makins on Their Way Over There.' Small print states the fund is the only one supplying smokes to troops en route to France and gives a New York treasurer's address for contributions. The tell is the cheerful, ordinary-soldier scene used to attach goodwill toward the troops to a request for money.
