[!["Together again for freedom!!", 1943 US cartoon: Uncle Sam shakes hands with a shirtless man labelled 'Haiti' while a cloud](https://propagandaarchive.org/collection/images/owi-alston-together-again-for-freedom-1943.jpg)](https://propagandaarchive.org/collection/images/owi-alston-together-again-for-freedom-1943.jpg)

# "Together again for freedom!!"

Uncle Sam shakes hands with a shirtless man labelled 'Haiti' while a cloud above shows two eighteenth-century soldiers with bayonets and the words 'Savannah' and 'Yorktown'; piles marked 'Sisal' and 'Rubber' lie to the left and a factory skyline to the right. The tell is transfer: Revolutionary War battle names are used to lend a historical frame to a wartime US-Haiti raw-materials partnership.
