# Pictures in the News poster, No. 6 (Arabic poster distributed in Beirut)

The Arabic edition of Pictures in the News No. 6, with the same photographs as the English sheet: African journalists visiting the New York Times, women UN delegates from Togo, Uganda and Morocco, a television interview, and a rail bridge at Khledia. Its Arabic headline calls the bridge a 'bridge of friendship', a symbol of Tunisian-American cooperation. The tell is glittering generalities in that headline, with transfer through the Times, UN and U.S. Army engineers.

JOURNALISTS VISIT U.S. NEWSPAPER (Arabic: African journalists on a visit to the New York Times)

[Opening paragraph, close to the English sister sheet: a delegation of African journalists from twenty countries visited the New York Times offices to see how a daily paper is produced in a large U.S. city, exchanged views with Times editor John B. The bridge of friendship, a symbol of Tunisian-American cooperation: engineers of the Tunisian and American armies jointly built a temporary railway bridge at Khledia to replace the old bridge destroyed by the flood; its speed let Tunisian rail resume carrying iron ore, an important export; a halt would be a severe blow to the Tunisian economy; the temporary bridge will serve until a permanent one is built.
