# Poster Series No. 2, Asian Youth Studies in America (English-text poster distributed in the Philippines)

A yellow sheet with a stylised figure crouching before a large book and holding a globe, around six captioned photographs of Asian students at American colleges, a library, a tea, a student forum and laboratories. The text says over 43,000 foreign students study in the United States and that American educational opportunity in 'a free, democratic society' attracts them. The tell is bandwagon, in the student count, with glittering generalities in 'free' and 'democratic'.

layan student (seated) in microbiology.

Every year an increasing number of Asian students are studying at American colleges.
Many have scholarships, but many make it on their own determination. It is the unique
educational opportunities in America ... in a free, democratic society ... which at-
tract them. For it is America's belief that a free and open exchange of knowledge
can do much to enhance understanding and the advancement of free peoples throughout
the world.
