# Một xã-hội tiến-bộ trên đà phát-triển (A Progressive Society on the Road of Development)

A photographic sheet (code SP-2139) says that motorbikes and scooters have become common and are changing the 'progressive and rapidly developing' society of the South. Photographs show rows of parked motorbikes in Saigon, a family on a scooter, and riders at a country market. The claim rests on everyday scenes of ownership; the sheet cites no figures and does not mention the war.

A PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY ON THE ROAD OF DEVELOPMENT

Fast means of travel by motorbikes and scooters, becoming more common every day, have created an important change in the progressive and rapidly developing society of the South. The people of a free, prosperous country are turning more and more to this means to solve their transport problem.

Parking is not a problem, but sometimes you must look through hundreds before finding your own. This scene is seen daily on the busy streets of Saigon.

This whole family has had a chance to go to the countryside to see what is new there.

Young people find an exciting thrill in using a motorbike, which is both a sport and a means of travel.

One advantage of shopping in the countryside is that you can stay seated on the saddle while you shop.

City people go to the countryside, and country people come to the city, on motorbikes. Besides providing transport, these vehicles help country and city people live closer to each other.
