# Project Concern in Vietnam poster, No. 352 (Vietnamese, Saigon)

A Vietnamese-language photo poster headed 'International Medical Relief Group' (Project Concern). Photographs show Dr. James W. Turpin examining patients, a mobile clinic vehicle, a Dam Pau hospital site 60 km from Dalat and staff planning a 44-bed hospital. The text describes the group as an independent private organisation. International Medical Relief Group.

The International Medical Relief Plan is an independent, private organisation aiming to give relief to all people everywhere. This plan supplies medicine, food, clothing and educational opportunities, and helps self-help plans for industries, vocational training and agriculture. The first activities of the International Medical Relief Group began in Hong Kong, founded by Dr. James W. Turpin, where the doctor set up two floating hospitals. Recently Dr. James W. Turpin came to work in Viet-Nam and set up a hospital at Dam Pau, 60 km from Dalat.

Dr. James W. Turpin (centre) examines patients each morning while training nurses (left) to serve later in the hamlets and villages.

The Dam Pau hospital, 60 km from Dalat, is the first hospital of the International Medical Relief Group in Viet-Nam, set up in June 1964.
