# "The Scarecrow of the Pacific" (Puck, 1907)

Centerfold in which an eagle carries an Uncle Sam scarecrow built from battleships across the Pacific toward a shore marked "Japan", where crows in military caps scatter under a rising sun. The fleet's voyage is drawn as a device to frighten Japan, at the height of the 1907 war scare.
