# Radio Tokyo Says, 18-21 March 1945 claims, as quoted in a U.S. Army intelligence bulletin

A boxed 'Brief' in a U.S. Army intelligence bulletin quotes a Radio Tokyo intercept of 23 March 1945: Japanese air attacks on the Allied task force 'confirmed sunk' 5 aircraft carriers, 2 battleships and 3 cruisers, with about 180 planes shot down, against 150 own planes 'not yet returned' and 'slight damage' on the ground. The claimed enemy losses are itemised; own-side damage is given in one qualitative phrase.
