# Cartoon of Roosevelt, Churchill and Chiang Kai-shek, Djawa Baroe, Java (1 June 1943)

Black-and-white halftone cartoon from an Indonesian-language magazine. Three labelled figures, 'ROOSEVELT (Amerika)', 'CHURCHILL (Inggeris)' and 'CHIANG KAI SEK', are drawn as a tangle on a wheeled frame: Roosevelt, wide-eyed, brandishes a sword; Churchill hunches at the handle; Chiang lies underneath, tearful. The tell of name-calling is the drawing itself: distorted faces and a pratfall pose do the insulting, with the only text being the name labels.
