A public mural fuses Maj. Gen. Mohamed Siad Barre's portrait directly into a giant Somali flag, with marching soldiers and warplanes streaming out of it toward the Mogadishu coastline. The leader's face doesn't illustrate the nation, it replaces it, so questioning the man reads as attacking the flag itself.
