# Sự thắng lợi đem lại an ninh và thanh bình cho đồng bào quận Ba-Tri (Victories Bring New Security to the People of Ba-Tri District)

A Vietnamese-language sheet (code SP-1844) shows three maps of Ba-Tri district with Viet Cong-controlled areas shaded red: large in early 1966, smaller by early 1967 and 'now' smaller still. The text says 18 months of government victories freed large areas and that more than 120 Viet Cong had rallied in the first three months of 1967. A shrinking red shape does the persuading, and the sheet gives no source for the map data.

VICTORIES BRING SECURITY AND PEACE TO THE PEOPLE OF BA-TRI DISTRICT

After 18 months of successive victories by the Government, Ba-Tri district has liberated a large number of areas controlled by the Viet Cong and compatriots oppressed by them. The map above shows only the areas controlled by the Viet Cong at the beginning of 1966, the pacification situation in 1967 and up to now. Militia and cadres have worked hard to restore security and order, sweeping the enemy's political and military organisations out of the hamlets. Viet Cong fighters, feeling that their struggle is hopeless, have decided to return to the just cause in ever greater numbers on the occasion of the Chieu Hoi campaign now under way. More than 120 Viet Cong fighters returned in the first three months of 1967.

The area controlled by the Viet Cong (coloured red) is now ever shrinking.
