# Swallowed! (Puck centerfold, 11 July 1900)

Chromolithograph by J. S. Pughe in Puck, 11 July 1900 (centerfold). A snake coiled in the words 'Populist Party', with a caricatured man's head, swallows a donkey labelled 'Democratic Party', hind legs still kicking. The Library of Congress record does not name the figure. A magazine centerfold, not a party document; the party labels carry the whole argument.
