# Central Bank of Turkmenistan 10000 manat note with a portrait of President Niyazov, 1996

Obverse of a 10000-manat note of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan. The right half is a three-quarter portrait of President Saparmurat Niyazov in a suit and tie; the centre shows a domed building with a small label beneath it; the field is in blue, olive and brown guilloche patterns. Everyday money carries the president's face, attaching his authority to an object every user handles, as other currencies in the collection do for other rulers.
