# The War Against Japan

A relief map of Asia and the Pacific carries a quotation from the Cairo statement of 1 December 1943, attributed by name to Roosevelt, Chiang Kai-shek and Churchill, and distance lines from Tokyo, Singapore and Darwin. The named leaders lend their authority (testimonial), and the phrase 'the three Allies, in harmony with those of the United Nations' presents a united coalition (bandwagon).
